The Choir

Unique because of its wide-ranging repertoire and the thoroughness of its training program, the Choir has worked under many international conductors, including Zubin Mehta, Jorge Mester, Hiroyuki Iwaki, John Hopkins and Sir Bernard Heinze, and with great orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Many choristers who have developed successful professional singing careers acknowledge the importance of the choir in developing their skills.

Involvement in major symphonic works has included performances of Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Britten's War Requiem and Saint Nicolas, Mahler's Symphony No. 3, and Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite. The choir has also contributed to the soundtracks of several movies - most notably in the Oscar-nominated musical score of 'Elizabeth', and the Australian box office hit 'The Dish'.
