Today we headed to Yulara from Kings Canyon. It wasn't too bad a journey and we only stopped once to admire Mt Conner. When we arrived at Yulara we set up our tents in very hard ground which made setting up the tents very difficult. Almost straight away we had lunch which was wraps with chicken schnitzels.
Afterwards, we went to a lookout that overlooked Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). It was a magnificent sight. Then the bus driver took us to the base of a canyon in Kata Tjuta and told us a bit about the sacredness of the rocks. He took us on a short hard walk in a canyon between two of the domes. It was amazing how such a massive rock could just be there when there is nothing around it.
Later on we went to the Uluru Visitor Centre and looked at the assembled painting and artworks and information there.
We then went up to a lookout overlooking Uluru to admire the sunset and the changing colours of the rock. We had some drinks and nibbles and just let ourselves realise that we were at Uluru.
After all of this we went back to the campsite and had dinner and dessert. Then we had a quick rehearsal just to get back into the zone for singing. Then we got ready for bed.

Hi J, Dad here. Great to hear your descriptions of the landscape and the impact of the experience. We've been marvelling at the amazing pics. Has been great to track your progress on this epic cultural journey.
Hiya James! What a thrilling adventure you have embarked on! You will never forget the amazing scenery, the sounds and the smells of the Australian outback! There is nothing quite so special as seeing, tasting and hearing things in the real. Enjoy to the max! Love from Henry, Anita, Seb & Micah xxxx
Fabulous post Kynan and James. Beautifully written and accompanied by some sensational photos. What a wonderful day you have all had. Very jealous. It does look very hot and DUSTY though. Enjoy. Scotty Charles - Oscar's dad.
